On July 7, Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada carried out its inaugural category-specific Express Entry draw for the French-Language Proficiency category. This draw, officially known as Express Entry Draw #256, extended invitations to a total of 2,300 candidates who met the specific criteria for this distinct category.
